Kerala and Tamil Nadu can complement each other in promoting industrial development through a strategic collaboration of resources and capabilities, according to Kerala's Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, Shri. P Rajeeve. Speaking at an investor meet organized by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Chennai, the Minister emphasized the potential for both states to grow together by leveraging their respective strengths.
Shri. Rajeeve highlighted the challenges Kerala faces in acquiring land due to its high population density but noted the state’s proactive measures to resolve this through initiatives like Private Industrial Parks, Campus Industrial Parks, and amendments to the Land Allotment Policy.
The Minister also underscored Kerala’s achievements, such as the recent inauguration of the Vizhinjam container transshipment port and the state's robust startup ecosystem. Other key speakers, including Kerala’s Principal Secretary for Industries, Shri. APM Mohammed Hanish, and KSIDC Managing Director, Shri. S Harikishore, elaborated on Kerala's industry-friendly policies that have transformed the state into an attractive investment destination.
The interaction concluded with a discussion on the strong industrial climate of southern states, with CII Tamil Nadu Chairman Shri. Srivats Ram and Kerala counterpart Shri. Vinod Manjila recognizing the significant GDP contribution from the region.
