Industry Minister P. Rajeev released the draft Logistics Parks Policy 2024 in Kochi

Industry Minister P. Rajeev released the draft logistics policy, announcing an investment subsidy of up to Rs.7 crore for logistics. On March 4th in Kochi, a meeting of the logistics sector consultative forum took place, where the minister released the draft logistics park policy. The draft policy also recommended declaring logistics parks as industrial zones and establishing a single-window system for the approval of the parks.

As per the order issued by the state’s Directorate of Industries and Commerce, industrial land could be released for logistics purposes, stated Shri P. Rajeev, the Minister for Law, Industries, and Coir. "Products worth one and a half lakh (1.5 trillion) rupees are arriving in Kerala from other Indian states, and this opportunity should be fully utilized," the minister said while presenting the draft policy. A meeting of the Logistics Consultative Forum involving industry stakeholders in the region was also held in connection with the unveiling of the draft policy to tap into India’s logistics industry, which was growing by 8.8 percent annually.

Several dignitaries participated in the meeting, including Suman Billa IAS (Principal Secretary, Industries & NORKA), Paul Antony IAS (Retd.) (Chairman, KSIDC), S. Harikishore IAS (Managing Director, KSIDC), and Varghese Malakkaran (General Manager, KSIDC).
